07/28/2008 -
Los Angeles, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Clippers added free agent swingman
Ricky Davis on Monday, signing him to a multi-year contract.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We believe he will be a good addition," said Clippers vice president of
basketball operations Elgin Baylor. "His versatility and ability to shoot from
the outside will spread the floor and help our low post players."
The 6-foot-7 Iowa product averaged 13.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists
per game for the Miami Heat last season. The Clippers will be the sixth club
for Davis, who was picked 21st overall by the then-Charlotte Hornets in 1998,
and has also played for the Heat (twice), Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics,
and Minnesota Timberwolves.
Davis has averaged 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game over 10
