the mound for the first time in over a year as the team announced he will
start Thursday's game versus the Colorado Rockies.
Sanchez last pitched for Florida May 2, 2007 against the Mets before
undergoing arthroscopic surgery to repair a tear in his labrum, shelving the
righty for the remainder of the season. He was 2-1 with a 4.80 earned run
average at the time.
This came on the heels of Sanchez's impressive rookie campaign when the 24-
year-old went 10-3 with a 2.83 ERA, highlighted by a no-hitter against
Arizona in September.
Sanchez went 2-0 with a 2.89 ERA in five minor league rehab starts, rounding
into form by tossing 101 pitches over seven innings in his latest start
Thursday.
