Hairston was placed on the DL on July 14 with a strained right hamstring. The
32-year-old is having a good year at the plate, hitting .351 with a pair of

against the Nationals.
To make room for Hairston, Cincy optioned reliever Todd Coffey to Triple-A
Louisville. In seven games with the Reds, Coffey compiled a 6.05 earned run
